The conference “Development of international cooperation of non-governmental and governmental organizations. Perspectives of volunteer movement development” was held in Donetsk on 19-20 February in frames of the project “Creation of coordinating centre for international volunteer services in Donetsk” under the support of the German Fund “Memory, Responsibility and Future”.
The leaders of NGOs, governmental organizations, volunteers and youth leaders from all Ukraine were invited as the conference organizers “Social Partnership” were planning to make the conference in the open space format.
The participants from Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa, Donetsk and Lugansk regions discussed current issues such as search of finance, social enterprise, attraction of volunteers, development of international cooperation, lobbying of civil society interests in authorities, experience exchange. Also, the participants had the opportunities to develop new projects and ways of further cooperation.
It was decided to create the coordinating centre on the basis of “Social Partnership” which will inform the organizations about news of the third sector and volunteer projects. Besides, it is planning to create the joint educational project for the participants of the conference.
The representatives of NGOs were very interested in involving volunteers to work in social projects and asked the organizers of this conference for help.
It was summed up that volunteering is developing quickly in Ukraine and to be a volunteer is modern, fashionable, noble and exciting.
