On the 7th of April in Petrovskiy district of Donetsk city in premises of public organization of children and young people with disabilities "Rainbow" took place the first master class on a painting technique that is called Monotype.
15 young people with disabilities attended the master class. Their wish was to meet new people and learn new technique of painting. Monotype is a very simple method and you don’t need to be very skilful and talented to make great pictures. This is important when dealing with disabled.
Some of the trainees were very excited and asked if they could participate in the First competition of creative works among the disabled in 2010.
Art trainer, Tatiana Stepanova has 10 years work experience with people with fewer opportunities and regularly organises master classes in drawing, embroidery, making art pieces of clay, paper, natural materials, etc. She is confident that you can learn a lot about the artist's inner psychological state from the paintings he does. By creating such paintings, the disabled tell about their feelings, emotions and dreams.
The next master class will be held on the 12th of April for social workers, parents of children with disabilities, volunteers. They will learn how to teach people with disabilities use the above mentioned techniques and how to understand from the pictures and colours the inner state of mind, mood of people who can not tell about it themselves.
Conducting master classes is possible by financial support from the Foundation "Renaissance" in frames of the anti-crisis humanitarian program the Open Society Institute (New York-Budapest).
