From the 25th September till the 2nd October Donetsk Volunteer Agency in cooperation with Turkish organization CLUB Mayis organized the international youth exchange in town Manisa, Turkey.
Volunteers and youth leaders from Donetsk took part in the cultural project titled «Men from Mars, women from Venus».
The project was devoted to sexual equality, to the relations between man and woman in the modern world, their roles in different cultures and countries, and also to possibilities of improvement of the mutual understanding between the representatives of the different sexes. Especially interesting was the fact, that the organizer of this exchange was exactly Turkish organization, because this country is known by its special, conditioned by religious canons, different from European, attitude toward a woman. In this project, besides Ukraine, the representatives of such countries as Turkey, Poland, Moldova, Romania and Portugal took part.
All participants of the project were surprised with the high level of organization and variety of the impressions. Besides the discussion on the offered topic, delegates had an opportunity to feel the culture of country, to taste the dishes of the Turkish cuisine, to become acquainted with many interesting people, to try themselves in scuba diving and to appear on the pages of local mass media. Delegates visited the city of the last dwelling of Virgin Maria (one of the most popular tourist`s places in Turkey), an ancient city Ephesus, remains of Artemis temple (one of seven wonders of the world), and spent unforgettable day in mountains.
One of the most interesting events of this project was so called «Inter-cultural night», when delegates from different countries reproduced a culture and atmosphere of the native land with the help of national music, dishes and beverages, dances and national costumes.
The participants of this international exchange project received valuable experience, but the main thing is, that they felt themselves the citizens of the united world, without borders and misunderstanding. We hope, that in the future more representatives of the Ukrainian young people will take part in such projects and will do the contribution to development of Ukrainian society.
