For nearly 5 months Dariya, Marina and Vsevolod have been helping Polish organizations to implement different social projects and they are making a significant contribution to the community's development. Due to cooperation of Donetsk Volunteer Agency and the German organisation ” Action of expiation. Peace issues service “ Ukrainians have the opportunity to participate in international volunteer projects for a period of 2 weeks to a year in Poland, Germany, Romania, the Czech Republic and other European countries.
This doesn’t require special knowledge, contacts or much money. Everyone who has an intention to help people, to see the world, to make new friends, to learn a foreign language and to gain invaluable experience can apply to take part in volunteer projects. If you don't know how to make an application and how to write a motivation letter, you can contact experts in Volunteer Agency and they will help you.
Are you interested in the life of volunteers abroad?
Here you can see the extract from our volunteer’s letter.
“My name’s Dariya. I’ve been living in Poland for three months already, which I wouldn’t believe if somebody had told me earlier. How it started : I saw the notice about the project in Poland near our dean’s office(Horlovka Institute of Foreign Languages). Then I called Olena Smagliy, the coordinator of Volunteer Agency, whose phone number was in the notice. She explained how to prepare a CV and a motivation letter in English. Later, I was invited to attend a seminar in Kiev. I take part in the project in Osventsim in The International House of Youth Meetings thanks to the German organization ” Action of expiation. Peace issues service “.
I work together with two more volunteers : Mike(Austria) and Alex (Germany). My duty is preparation work :to book an excursion to a museum, to arrange places for everybody, to provide food and transport. When a group comes I take part in their program. I work in the library, translate and help in everything.
I’d like to mention that I was welcome very warmly. It was pleasant to see that I was waited with impatience. It goes without saying that I like my work, this city and country. I feel as an ambassador of Ukraine because I represent my country here. I wish they would remember me for good things I did here.”
